Project Zomboid LAN Game?

Hello fellow survivors. Is there's a way to play Project Zomboid using Hamachi instead of Steam? I want to play this game with my distant friend, however, I have no idea how to setup a local server so we can play together.

 

The version of my game is 2.9.9.17.

hey, i'm currently having same question but found out this articles that might help. The first article is written on how to setup LAN using Hamachi, second is a video tutorial on how to join Multiplayer.

Would it be wise for me to assume you're using Desura for this? It looks like you're using the latest version they've put out, which does not have multiplayer, and not the any latest ones Steam's put out, which does have multiplayer. Sadly, Desura users have had to wait for updates a lot longer than Steam users lately because of hassle with uploading newer versions I believe, so if you want to use online MP then you'll have to either wait for the release of the new version or switch over to steam and follow these instructions.
