So i got project zomboid recently and the game won't launch .

barryallen

Question

When i click the "projectzomboid32" (i have a 32-bit windows 7,yes its ancient) file its showing a black screen and then the resolution gets changed to 800*600(just a guess by the looks of it) and whats shown is my desktop screen with just the changed resolution. Then finally it crashes .When i click the bat file the console screen pops up ,shows up some stuff then again the resolution changes but this time the launch kinda happens (a little) it shows the black screen with "loading script","loading clothing",etc then it crashes. The crash usually happens after "loading clothing" is shown.

Please consider to look through this issue of mine and please guide me in fixing it.I really wanna play this game , i got really hooked up with the youtube videos and got really excited when i got it.

My PC has run games like Assassin's Creed 3, GTA 4 ,Just Cause 2,Mafia 2 and other games like that if it is because my PC is lame as it is please recommend some mods i can use to downgrade the game so that i can play it.

I really want to play the game.

The 32 bit version of the game is not supported and cannot even be downloaded on Steam anymore due to that. It is most likely that if you have a 32 bit PC then it cannot run the game. I can only suggest reverting to the older game versions, as those may still be playable on very old systems.

You can switch to the older "Legacy" game versions by going to your Steam Library > Right click Project Zomboid > Properties > Betas > Select the Legacy 40 or older versions.
You can do the same thing on the GoG version in “Manage Installation“ > “Configure...”
