the game closes when entering the character creation section

When entering the tutorial, I give it "Click on Start" and then it closes. Then try to play a game in "Single Player" and when you get to the "Select Character" section, it closes.

Something seems wrong with your game install, as if your OpenGL driver was broken.
 

Can you try doing a full reinstall?

First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.

After that, go to “C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.

Then just install the game again and see if that helps.
