when i try to launch the game a optimum reguired res 1440 x 900 pops up and when i change it to that it still doesent work

I don't think PZ is causing that.

Try going to the C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid folder and edit the options.ini file.

In that file, edit the fullscreen=true line to fullscreen=false

Then try launching the game again.
