Bedford Falls (Test V2)

I haven't test this yet, but from what it looks like you have not implemented metazones for this map. This might cause problem with trapping o.o

It's not possible with the current tools yet. Well ofc RingoD might be an exception to the rule since he's a dev... It's at least not possible for us mortals.

Are there zombies on this map? I was going to give it a try, but I assumed there were zombies. :)

 

There are some, but it is awfully low for a town.

On that note, how to actually spawn in bedford? It shows as an option, but I spawn in Muldraugh, rather than in Bedford.

All three options show up, but it just doesn't spawn me there.

ok, tried it out, seems to still work just fine

What are the steps you take to make the map work on a server. I was nrver able to get it to work :/

 

wish i had an answer for you, but i was only trying it in Sandbox mode.

but i would not be much help with servers and mods anyway, every mod i tried to add in my old server was a failure.

 

glad i cancelled that thing.

Hey guys, so here it is, Bedford Falls Version 2!

Whats New?

Well, lots of buildings bugs have been fixed, a lot of duplicated buildings have been swapped out for previously unused ones, a large military area and water treatment facility has been added to the north of Bedford Falls, the town itself has been placed in its final (until the vanilla map expands this far) place and just needs a bit more love to join it up with the vanilla map properly. Bedford Falls is now also its own spawn location alongside West Point and Muldraugh (it no longer replaces Muldraugh as a spawn) and also has a variety of random spawn locations.

Zombie numbers have also been significantly increased across Bedford Falls.

 

There may still be some buildings with bugged walls etc.

 

Unzip the file into your "Project Zomboid" install folder, overwriting all files etc as you go.

Load the game up and select your starting location. You can now choose between Muldraugh, West Point and Bedford Falls. Bedford Falls also includes random spawn points now too.

Report any/all bugs in this thread. Use the pic above to note down the Cell the bug appears in, and provide a picture of the problem area if possible. I will be going through all the lots/world and fixing all these bugs for the Final release of Bedford Falls.

OKay so i'm at the army base at the Air Support Tower Building over next to where they can store Vehicles or Airplanes. And i was in the Air Support building in the classrom with the stars next to it. well i have a bunch of loot and i wanted to check upstairs out so i went up the stairs. well i got to the top and i fell and now i have broken legs and im trapped behind the stairs

Is this map going to work its way into the main game or will it always be a mod would love to see it in there

It isn't going into the vanilla game. Also, Bedford Falls includes work of many community authors, while the PZ devs want the vanilla map to remain entirely their own handiwork.

Fully aware that this (and Dreadwood) aren't in their final phases but will the next version of this be positioned on the map in a more logical location? The Main Street looking road in Bedford Falls is just screaming to be linked up at a point on the main road; I was thinking in New West Point (the area with the mall) past the warehouse near the gas station.

it is all too common for people to assume things will stay the way they are, when the truth is that the map is also having a lot of work done on it. the whole map in general will be so big that it's taking a lot of time to get it done right.

 

of course, we all want Bedford V3, but Ringo is already plenty busy doing the work he gets paid for.

Shouldn't that mean practically any area of the map would be off limits using that logic? Bedford falls is gonna be moved anyway. As long as that area remains empty it seems like a logical place to put it. Move it if the area becomes occupied.

its a fact that Lousville and Fort Knox will be coming into the map at some point. what is planned to be built between the current edge of the map and the outskirts of Louisville is unknown at this point. whether the current location of Bedford will remain or not is not something i can say. neither can you. but as RingoD is a Dev, he may have known something we don't know when he placed Bedford in that particular location.

 

as i don't make maps, i have no idea if it is as easy as just deciding to place it in one spot or another.

I tried to download it, I was so pumped! It looks great; but when I downloaded it, i went to open PZ and loaded the map, and when it loaded all it was, was land, no buildings, just land? Help?

Does Bedford Falls not work anymore? Because I tried to download it in my PZ installation folder and it's not appearing on my maps.

Make sure that you have it placed in the right part of your install folder. If you've got it through steam, it'll look like this:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\ProjectZomboid\media\maps

Make sure you aren't just putting the BedfordFallsV2 folder in there. Open that up and copy the bedford and muldraugh folders into your media\maps folder.
