Hi,

I have a little problem, i have donwload the new build with IWBMS but it is impossible for me to connect on my own servers.

I have  ID_DISCONNECTION_NOTIFICATION in the console and Connection Failed in the game. I have already set my whitelist.

Any idea ?

Having the same problem. I host and can't join my own server. Sometimes it gets stuck on "connecting" forever, others it shows the "Connection Failed". Tried using 127.0.0.1 and my ip from evolve, same thing. My cousing tried entering my server and get the same error, and he tried hosting it himself, but the same thing happened. We both were able to enter on eliakoh's server, though.

We both were able to host before this update, so I don't know why it doesn't work now

Edit: I think I found out what the problem was(at least in my case).

The world.db file, for some reason, was 0kb and had nothing wrote on it. So I deleted it and the server created another one, with 6kb, and now I can join my server.  (clyde)

We (a friend of me and myself) got the same problem... nearly.

He can't connect any server but I can. We tested it with the public Server: Keifleaf.no-ip.biz which worked for me but not for him.

We also tested it while I was hosting a server and he was hosting one. Everytime I could connect but he couldn't.

We both did a fresh install of everything. The only real difference between our PCs is he uses win8 I use win7. My idea was that maybe RakNet is not working well with win8 maybe? What OS are you using Snake?

His server is running well. I can connect to his server but he can't.

With the last build everything was fine with his connection.

Little Update: He switched to his Mac and now he can join. For me it seems to be a win8 / RakNet problem...

Are you using Windows 8, too? My friend can magically connect now. It seems a PC reboot did help and now we're testing what could cause this behaviour. Tunngle/Hamachi network priority settings is one thing. I'll report back.

UPDATE:

Server output whit comments:

After this he closed tungle but he was only getting disconnects. I did not copy all of it but right now we're at ~10 disconnects after trying several thing. Closing tungle, changing network priority...

TL.DR:

After all this my friend did a PC reboot and all worked again. He can connect now, in fact he's connected right now :P

ipconfig /renew or /flushdns didn't help. Also deactivating and activating the network adapters didn't help.

DO NOT USE TUNNGLE WHEN USING WINDOWS8

I hope this will help anyone.

Update2:

Oops forgot to mention that I'm using a dynamic dns service to get a static public IP address. Using tunngle only does not work for us.

I found out a probable case for this kind of issue. I was playng with my buddy while my server was up, and another one wanted to join. He couldn't..he kept getting the well known issue and couldn't join. Just for a test, me and my friend (that were connected to the server directly by lan) logged out and the other one magically logged in :P

POSSIBLE SOLUTION:

if you host a local server do not join it by using the internal (lan) ip. It seems to mess up the external connections somehow. You can either log with the internal ip AFTER every external player has joined, or simply use yourself the external ip, then everything works finely!

That doesn't matter for me. I'm connecting via localhost at any time, my friends via my dyndns IP at any time. It may help in your case but it's not the general case.

The OPs case was that he couldn't connect to his own server. I assume he got problems with his network adapter prioritys. At least we could reproduce the issue with Windows 8 and Hamachi/Tunngle.
