Mac Ventura Crash several seconds after startup

igez

Question

Hello, I played 200 hours of this game and kind of sad after updating to Ventura 13.3.1 (22E261) I can no longer play it except on  Windows and on my steamdeck, whenever I open zomboid from steam (I already used compatibility option as well), it always crash after several seconds, duration doesn't seems to be  exact, sometimes I can play Solo and MP for a couple second after (This is how you died), but mostly just after the splash screen, around <10 seconds later it crashed.

Please take a look at this crash log if it helps

Thank you!

Do you have any other suggestion? Friend of mine playing on this M1 Pro without issue

Hi Beard,

If I fast enough to press continue or join MP server it works fine! I can play the game without crash, however another thing I noticed  is whenever I spent to long on the Option UI (changing resolution, play around with the Display setting UI) after couple minutes if I  stay in that menu I  will crash, this is very easy reproducible.

Do you think it would help to pin point my issue?

Did you try starting the game as mentioned? It is unlikely we will be able to pin point the issue if it closes without any errors.

Didn't find file with stub you mentioned, am I in the right folder?

Unfortunately, there does not seem to be anything specific here either. Could you in this case try to run the game directly through the Mac Terminal instead of through Steam and see if that helps?
Go to the game's Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files.
Now, in your finder Finder, right-click the application and select "Browse as Folder" at the top. Then, find the folder with the Java application "stub" in it.
After that, start your Terminal, and simply drag the application into the terminal window and press Enter.
