Black screen when starting the game

AxuxHD95

Question

Hello, I have a problem with the game because when I start the game the screen goes black but I can hear the music in the background and I can also click on the terms and conditions. I have tried to do everything that has crossed my mind, looking in the log I have seen a stack overflow problem related to opengl but I have no idea how to fix it. I leave my logs below in case you are interested.
Besides, I have also tried to change the version of the game and only legacy_77 has worked correctly with the alternative launcher.

Even trying the alternate launch? Since you said you can launch the game through that on the older version correct?
Since if it still does not work, I would recommend doing a full reinstall, just to make sure there are no issues with the files, since you said the older game version works fine.

First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.

After that, go to “C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid” and delete everything there

Then just install the game again and see if that helps.

Did you follow the exact steps of uninstalling though? Since manually deleting any leftover files would be very important and should not be disregarded if you did just a normal reinstall before this.

Beard I have solved the problem, in the end it was a problem with the overlay of the gpu tweak III, which overlayed giving a game error. It seems to be that problem and maybe it happens with other overlays. Now I have to disable it to be able to play.

Possibly a graphics config issue, I would recommend resetting your Nvidia settings in this case and see if that helps.

Right-click on your desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel.
Click Manage 3D Settings.
In the upper-right corner, click Restore Defaults.

Still doing the same thing, any other suggestions?

I updated the graphics drivers two days ago so I don't know. . .

Try going to the C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid folder and edit the options.ini file.
In that file, edit the fullscreen=true line to fullscreen=false
Then try launching the game again.

I have also done it and nothing.
