npc Switching between NPCs and starter character

Hi all! I had an idea, let me know if it has been mentioned before or if you have any thoughts.

After NPCs are implemented, I was thinking it would be cool if we could switch between members of our clan/the character we started with. In my experience, when the game gets stale for the night it's often due to something character related (like an injury, or personality attribute, etc) and I think being able to switch from one character to another would add a ton.
 

Additionally, perhaps when your character dies maybe you could choose to continue as someone in your clan.
