Nazarito22
We all know that after a while the electricity turns off in the game. But how does it shut down without a power plant ? Since the developers heard (like my wishes) and added electric poles to the game, it means they may have plans to create an electric network. I suggest adding power plants, transformers and the electrical network itself consisting of poles and wires on the map to the game, which will be displayed on the map as an additional layer as the player finds each pole. That is, in order to see the entire chain of pillars on the map, the player will have to explore all this way. Having reached the 10th level of electrics, it will be possible to repair the power plant and restore the light (a good goal for a long game). You can also add such a thing as the repair of certain sections of the electrical network. Going to the pole, you can check the presence of electricity (if there is, for example, 6 levels of electricity) and certain tools by opening the context menu. If it is not there, then fix it with an electric wire and appropriate tools. In general, this is a very extensive topic. But in general, it would add more meaning to such a profession and skill as an electrician. P.S. I know and understand it's very difficult things and developers don't do quickly. It's just idea , calm down. Edited August 22, 2022 by Nazarito22
CannedRat
I think this is beyond the capacity of a sole survivor. Power plants take coal/gas/hydo/wind/nuclear material, they opperate round the clock with a team of highly skills staff. Poles and wires are a high voltage system that takes a serious amount of equipment and vehicles to interact with, even unsafely. Its not like wiring the garage. Level 10 electrical seems to be about a competent household electrician not an experienced power plant technician or a high-voltage specialist. Even putting up a new power pole or stringing wires beside the road takes heavy equipment and multiple people. Let alone fabricating a new pole or a couple of tons of copper wire. Sure a survivor might be able to find and access the power plant, but where do they even start? What is the the start up process for a plant that has run down and failed (even non-catastrophically) normally turning a power plant on is a significant process involving lots of highly trained people. Then messing with the lines would take resources that are just not availible in the game and could be better abused to wipe out the zombies. There is just some stuff that is "too big" to pretend could be done by a sole survivor or even a small group. Rebuilding a traffic bridge, building and staffing a hospital, establishing food supply chains, getting the railway working again, it would be a very different game. getstoopid, Guicsr02 and duh7
duh7
Around Kentucky (LV) there is some coal generating power plants and hydroplants in LV. For now its part of map that we dont get but in future devs could consider to give us buldings and modders will do what they do best. Still it can be easy to find coal there.
