CescMC
Hi team, Every time I try to join a server this error pops up: "failed to establish p2p connection with server". I searched on the internet and I tried deleting the "Save" and "Server" folders from Zomboid folder, I tried deelting the game and reinstalling it, I tried deleting steam as well but nothing worked out. Could I have some assistance please? I mainly bought the game to play with my friends and enjoy it but it's not happening Thanks in advance
Beard
Does it happen with every server you try to join?
Mota
Good afternoon I have exactly the same error when trying to log in to my server
Beard
Well as mentioned, does it happen with any server?
Mota
Yes. I have already tried to log into my server several times, and each time it gives this error
Beard
Yes I understand that, I was just asking if it happens when joining any other random public server, and not your server specifically. This is to check for any general connection issues.
Mota
I'm sorry, I misunderstood. I connect to the public server without any problems
Beard
That's good to know, in that case can you share your logs.zip file found in C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid?
Ashitak
i have the same problem, cant connect, same p2p server.
Beard
I think you would get the same answer in that case, I would need the logs.
Mota
logs.zip
Beard
4 hours ago, Mota said: logs.zip 1.98 MB · 0 downloads Based on the logs it seems like the issue might be with the actual server name as it might have issues reading special characters. Can you just name the server setting "servertest" as it is by default and try hosting it like that?
Mota
I tried, but nothing changed at the beginning, I just reset all the settings and tried on the classic ones, it didn't work out, it gave an error. Then I wrote the name in English myself, without changing the settings, but even then I was waiting for a failure
Beard
In that case do you have any antivirus or anything else on your PC that might affect the network? Some of the apps can cause issues when hosting servers for example.
Mota
I have only one antivirus, it's an antivirus from Windows. I don't know, can it affect the operation of the server? If so, how to fix it?
Beard
Windows generally does not cause any issues no. In that case can you make sure to have the necessary ports opened through the firewall? 16261 and 8766 are the main ones:
