Unable to Launch normal from Steam but can launch in Alternative Launch mode

I do not know why but just set up a new PC. W10. Installed Project Zomboid and I can only launch the game from Steam in the 'Alternative Launch" mode. Can play the game just fine with that launch method. Though anytime I try to launch normally it simply shows "running..." with the green text and stops right there. Doesn't even seem to get it up.

 

Any known issues or fixes here?

Well the fix is to run the game using Alternate mode, its been put there for these situations.
Likely the computer is blocking the launch of the .exe for some reason, for example the pre installed antivirus is set up so it blocks the .exe from checking the Windows version, which is what the .exe does. In which case it will not launch.
