Was just gifted the game and when I try to open the game, it does not start.

Me and one of my friends have been going through some fixes but none of them have worked.

Thanks, seems like this would be the issue:

D:\steam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You seem to have the game in a path with several special characters which are !!!!
The game cannot read those characters properly, meaning either move the game to a different folder or remove the characters from that path.

Can you try using the "Alternate launch" option when launching the game through Steam? If the game fails to start again, can you share your console.txt file found in C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid?

you have, no clue how funny that is. we spent like an hour trying to figure out why it wouldnt work. you a real one beard thank you
