How do I place my building into the Knox map?

I built a cabin that i would like to plop down into a spot on the default map ive been reading about it but im only getting stuff from 5 years ago and im still kinda confused i know it has to do with cell overlapping or somthing but as i said i dont completely understand it im pretty new to this i had no problem figuring out the building editor but the whole map deal is like out of my ball park atm

now im also running into a problem where every item i place is clipping in and out of the wall it just started doing this i cant decorate any building anymore it was fine an hour ago not sure what i did and i built a porch off the  front but i cant put anything on it because it removes the floor

also having a problem placing a fire place if i put one piece in it removes the other for instance if i  put the actual fire place in then i go to put the stone piece that goes around it it removed the fire place

this is the furniture problem im having right now i dont know why it just all the sudden started doing this
