How do you install mods?

I have a few questions about how to install mods, and also other questions about mods.

First off how do I install a mod? I looked at mod help and support on the forums and couldn't find anything, I also looked on YouTube and there was nothing there either.

Secondly can I have more then one mod, e.g. can I install 10 mods and they all work, but will I have compatibility issues if I have more than one? E.g. it will become laggy and frequently crash) Because that's what I plan on doing, just a clusterf*uck of mods. xD

Any and all help would me much appreciated :-)

It depends on how the mod is distributed.

If you unzip the mod and it gives you a "media" folder then all you have to do is finding the "media" folder of your Project Zomboid installation and merge the two (drag all files from the mod's media folder to the PZ media folder).

If you're on a Mac this won't work because some dude at Apple thought it would be a good idea to overwrite folders instead of merging them ... here I'd suggest using the DITTO terminal command.

... someone should write a better tutorial about that ...

---

Of course you can run multiple mods at the same time and as long as they don't modify the same game aspects they should get along. Of course if you have two mods that change sleeping mechanics for example, chances are high that they will conflict in some way ;)

I run 6 mods at the moment and they all work perfectly fine together :)

i love modding my game. Normally i mod to make the game harder but this game is hard enough :) i just love what people come up with. And you have some great mods out and in progress i cant wait to get my hands on.

This is such a great game, with a awesome community. I am very proud to be a part of it. First time i have ever said that about a game.(and i have been playing games for 30 years)

ok ok enough ehugs. I am off to try to get that jerky mod done before 2.9.9.11 rolls out.
