Multiplayer Joining Problem

Hi! My friend and I just recently bought the game. We changed the version to the multiplayer beta version 41.61. When he hosted, he invited me via steam but I can't seem to join his game. It successfully connects, then gets authorized by steam and connects again. Then you are just "connecting" to my friend for the next 7 minutes. Any advice? TIA!

no. we already disabled all firewalls and we have no anti-virus software. that's why we are also stuck figuring out why we can't connect to each other.

In that case I would recommend checking the router settings as well, if you have any firewalls or security features enabled there as well that would prevent hosting. Additionally restarting the router can help as well.

There doesnt seem to be anything wrong with the server itself, which would mean that the issue is due to the actual connection between you two, do you have any antivirus software? Some of them can block connections to and from other servers.

Can you try switching to the "none" beta version and retry?
And can he tried connecting to any public server to see if there is an issue with just your specific server or not.

we tried going back to the none beta version and still couldn't connect to each other. We both can, however, join public servers, but these are usually past the initial stages of the game so we can't thoroughly enjoy playing.

Can the one who is hosting share the logs.zip file found in C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid?
