Game can run at 120+ FPS but stutters a lot on M1 Macbook Pro

Like many others I've recently bought the game. I wanted to play on a 14" Macbook Pro, with an M1 Pro processor.

 

After a bit of googling I've seen that many others could play the game flawlessly on the same CPU, but it stutters a lot for me and it makes it almost unplayable.

Meaning that the game can run at whatever I set my FPS limit to, but it drops to 10-20 FPS for a split-second occasionally (usually when I load the game and go to a previously unexplored area), and that time is enough for me to die unexpectedly in the game.

 

I've tried setting literally everything to low (except the resolution, the game doesn't let me change it, even from options.ini), deleting the options.ini file, reinstalling the game, but nothing helped. Game is the most up-to-date version, MacOS is Monterey 12.1. I never used any mods at all. On an older Mac (with way worse specs), the game run fine, FPS was lower but no stutters at all.

 

Is there anything else I could try? I'm not sure where to go from here.

Is the game being properly virtualized by Rosetta? And have you checked if there are any issues with Rosetta causing any problems with other apps?

Hmm not sure what I can suggest then, I am not an expert on Mac computers myself so I am not sure what exactly can cause stutters on it, usually with windows it is a problematic Hard drive or an antivirus constantly checking the game files, would either of those be a case on your machine?

It is using Rosetta for me. There's no M1-optimized version of the game yet, right?
