PZ dedicated Server Not responding

randomwildwood

Question

I have setup a dedicated server and can see it with the local IP in my server listing though when trying to connected I run into a p2p connection failure and noticed my public IP is showing the server as not responding. I have dedicated 10gbs of ram and am using the StartServer64 batch file in the F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Project Zomboid Dedicated Server folder. I have included the log files and a screenshot below.

Ok so I no longer get the p2p connection error when attempting to connect to my local after re-verifying the project zomboid dedicated server via steam and then re-launching as the 64bit launcher instead of through steam. That said, I still get failed to respond when attempting to connect to my public IP

Yeah you should use your local IP to join your own hosted server. You can also leave your IP as 127.0.0.1 if you are hosting locally.

Good day,

Do you know how you got it to eventually work?
I have the same issue. Even external IP addresses are saying 'the server is not responding'. I've opened ports in router and firewall.

Thanks for the help!

When you start your server, does it have similar messages at the top?

Okay wow!!!! I've been at this for the past 3 hours trying to connect to my own dedicated server, looking through endless articles and forum posts. This is the only time anybody has mentioned that I need to use my local IP. Thank you!! Works perfectly now!!
