albertspammy
MAY BE ENTIRELY MOOT IT WAS A GAME BUG, DEVELOPERS SAY NOT iNTENDED BEHAVIOUR give the "normal" attack the same chance to get stuck in a zombie as the "jaw stab" making it much harder to do the eternal kitting and killing of huge hordes of shamblers, as just reducing the damage done does not solve the fact that you can just kite with stone knives going stab stab, it just lengthens the time you have to do it for (slightly), as you described the damage reductiom of stone and other knives. and presumable most of the code for it is already in place as i and other have noticed just how much easier it is to kills huge hordes of shamblers with a knife than other weapons it has got to the point i almost prefer knives over machete or katana idea from u/rumthorp reddit, but i could not persuade him to suggest it himself in his words less tha 100 of playing he has had apocalypse spoiled for him becasue he no longer fears hordes becasue he can easily kill with just a knife, it feels wrong to him to be able to this with a knife Edited July 4, 2021 by albertspammy
Geras
I don't like this idea, I'd rather have normal zombies get the 'player movement slowdown' effect sprinters have. This should solve all kiting issues with all weapons.
albertspammy
from this discussion it has turned out that zombies noit being able to grab you while backpedling is a bug so may be entirely moot depending on the fix Edited July 4, 2021 by albertspammy
