Please post here for map specific bugs like invisible walls, glitches, pathing problems, etc. Thanks everyone! Try to post screenshots in spoilers or videos whenever possible.

 

 

 

Map-specific issues:

Hello there,

 

this thread is the place to post all your map-related problems (missing walls, wrong window placement, kitchens without sinks, etc...).

Please follow these guidelines when reporting a problem:

  • Download the Coordinate-Viewer and place the .lua file in your /media/lua folder. (The viewer can be de-/activated ingame by pressing P)
  • When you find a problem in the game, take a screenshot that includes the coordinates of the map object.
  • Please wrap any screenshots you post in "thumbnail" tags.
  • Make sure to describe the problem as closely as possible.
  • Add the version of Project Zomboid in which you encountered the problem. (Important!)

While playing in my last game I found some kitchen furniture you can walk over(I think mostly under the window, not sure all the them thou), let me know if you want to know where.

Picked this up running around on a random playthrough this evening, sorry, no co-ordintaes. It regards the rail yard, specifically the two train sheds, not having any rear walls

 

Version: Build 21.

 

These train sheds have no back walls, can be walked through on all floors (3 floors) and this is the case in both of the train sheds I found while running around before I got horded. I ran through these on a second play through and can confirm it is repeatable.

Build: 21

 

The is a window on the 2nd floor of the Old Warehouse, the one the catwalk runs up to on the SE side.  You can put a sheet rope down it and climb out of it without a problem.  If you climb back up, you miss the catwalk and fall to your death!

 

This could be a bug, not sure...

 

However, if NPC are created and they can enter your home... this would be a good Honey Pot to catch them with!!


Build: 21

 

Rail Yard Barns (the 3 story long buildings).  The Northern most walls do not exists.  Zeds can run straight through them.  If there is a piece of furniture in the way, they will have to scoot around it.  But afterwards they are in.

 

This bug also goes up the various levels.  It is possible to fall of the catwalk but falling through the Northern wall.  So either a 2nd or 3rd story fall.

Build 21:

 

I set myself the task of checking each of the two story houses in Westpoint for the 'walk through walls' bug.  I've done about 2/3rds of them, and here's what I've found so far -

3 houses - Brown house with the brown roof has a couple of wall panels missing at the top of the stairs. The yellow one with the brown roof next to it (for sale) walked through the wall at the top of the stairs. And the brown house with the blue roof, walked through the wall at the end of the hall (along the wall the bathroom is on). Game hung on last two occasions.

Yellow house with a blue roof, can't get to the door of the upstairs bathroom because the stairs are in the way (the door needs to be moved over one slot so it's not on the other side of the stairs).

 

I've included other house bugs that I've found along the way, some of these may have been listed above I haven't checked.  I'll probably get the rest done in the next day or two and I'll post links to any others that I find.

3 houses - The brown house with a blue roof, walked through the wall at the top of the stairs and in the bedroom alone the same walll, same thing in the Grey house with the blue roof next to it. Also the orange house with the brown roof (next to the grey house) walked through the wall of the bedroom and study to the right of the stairs. Game hung every time.

When you get near them the option to search the floor disappears from your search box as well. The containers in the other rooms in the building are working fine though. It's just all the metal shelving in the main garage room.

 

Oh and that's build 21 BTW.

the diner in the trailer park on the highway inbetween muldraugh and west point has some bugged walls you can walk through. you can walk thru the window sections on the front of the diner, and the 3rd window to the left inside the diner.

Hai. I didn't see this house logged in this thread. Same issue: walk-through windows leading to game crash. Build 21 on Steam.

The head above the door in the middle of shot is me phasing through the wall. Also, the game is crashed in this screenshot (not obvious, but true).

I found a glitch whereby I could walk through a second storey wall and out into the yard outside, presumably floating. I didn't try to get back inside, I just took a screenshot and then force-quit PZ.

 

Coordinates are X=11599; Y=6732

Phew, thanks everyone :) I've fixed all the ones I could (there were a few that I think were random bugs).

 

The problems where you could walk through walls on the second floors of houses is due to a streaming issue, not the map itself. This should be fixed in the next public build, so if you continue having problems with this after the update, please let me know. 

 

Rorschach: unfortunately I don't know what you mean... do you mean that a zombie was in the 2x2 laundry room in the south of the kitchen? If so, then I'm not sure what the problem is, so I think I'm misunderstanding you :)

Hi Mash!

Thanks for, ahem, mashing all our map bugs! I look forward to not being able to fly through second story walls any more! :)

 

Regarding the zombie that spawned in the wall space, the screenshot is below - this is how the kitchen at that location looked for me. I say that because do building interiors always appear the same for everyone, or are they generated from a collection of templates for interiors?

 

And is it possible that there is a door to that tiny space that I just didn't notice before because it was on one of the sides that is not easily seen (north or west)?

 

Anyway, my character is facing the wall inside which the zombie spawned, behind that light switch next to his head - it was there before I walked in. It's not a serious issue at all, just one I thought I'd bring to your attention.

Found a couple of issues with Pizza Whirled in Westpoint. Not exactly sure WHY I decided to build my stronghold there, in particular. Just thought it would be neat, and I had already cleared the area. It sure was a pain in the butt, seeing as I couldn't sleep in the booths. Which was disappointing, as I had already hauled all my stuff over from my dinky little safehouse nearby... but anyways.

 

It doesn't appear that you can build anything inside Pizza Whirled. I don't know if this issue is shared with other buildings that use those red floor tiles or not. Can't build chairs, or set up tents. Floor tiles and dirt pouring won't work either. I tried a couple of other things, but not everything. Walls and crates don't work. This was true of build 21, and is the same in build 23 as well. Interestingly enough, when I first tried to build a chair and failed to place it, I went outside to place my campfire. The placement sprite for my campfire was a chair for a while, but I haven't replicated this anomally.

 

I had another issue when I built stairs up to the roof of the Zippee Mart and connected Pizza Whirled via a bridge. You can see the roof of both buildings initially. But when you approach Pizza Whirled from the Zippee Mart, the roof cuts away and you can see inside. Don't be fooled. The roof is actually NOT THERE! You will fall through and get stuck forever in the booths below. I haven't tried to build a staircase directly onto Pizza Whirled yet. And I'm a bit afraid to.

 

 

 

Another oddity in the area, not sure if this is a bug or not. Just across the parking lot from Pizza Whirled and Zippee Mart is a small strip-mall. The very front section closest to the road is a small office with no windows, just the door (I had to axe my way in here). In the corner behind the office is a tiny bathroom with no way in or out. Not from the outside, the office, or the store next door. I know this is a bathroom because in build 21 you could sometimes see through the walls. Not visible in 23, since that was fixed.

 

 

Did I discover a secret executive washroom? I'll check the desk in the office to make sure there's not a hidden switch that makes a section of the wall swivel open. :)

On the Muldraugh map directly north-west of the Farmers Market and the Motel there is a house with a dirt driveway, while climbing through the kitchen window on the right I got stuck inside the cabinets and was unable to move or climb out the window.

 

Playing Vanilla game, no mods whatsoever.
