Map Specific Problems

Rathlord

Question

Please post here for map specific bugs like invisible walls, glitches, pathing problems, etc. Thanks everyone! Try to post screenshots in spoilers or videos whenever possible.

Map-specific issues:

Hello there,

this thread is the place to post all your map-related problems (missing walls, wrong window placement, kitchens without sinks, etc...).

Please follow these guidelines when reporting a problem:

  • Download the Coordinate-Viewer and place the .lua file in your /media/lua folder. (The viewer can be de-/activated ingame by pressing P)
  • When you find a problem in the game, take a screenshot that includes the coordinates of the map object.
  • Please wrap any screenshots you post in "thumbnail" tags.
  • Make sure to describe the problem as closely as possible.
  • Add the version of Project Zomboid in which you encountered the problem. (Important!)
Cheers,

RoboMat

Example:

Version: 2.9.9.10

Description: Shack is missing floor tiles.

Thanks guys :)

Blindcoder: what do you mean by walk-on cupboard? Do you mean that the counters do not act as solid objects, or are you referring to something else?

Fuebar: I think that's a problem with click detection. Double sinks was intentional, as those are nicer houses in that area and so some of them have two sinks in the bathroom :)

I guess that's what the submitter meant, I've added a link to this thread to the POI submission form, so I hope people stop sending the reports to me and post them here instead :-)

You can walk through the wall of the 2nd floor in this house. Doing so will cause the game to crash.

Hi, I am encountering highly annoying problem/bug in West Point map. The problem is that certain sounds loop and trigger too much when you're inside the school building, the one with two floors. And the sounds I am talking about are both the helicopter and plane sound effects. They're looping over and over again constantly, even playing at the same time. For instance, I had the approaching airplane sound effect playing like 4 times in 20 seconds. Sounds like the United States Air Forces is having a training session on top of the school, with all they got.

This problem really wrecks my nerves (and my speakers).

I've tried to boot the game, and also tried creating another save.

This warehouse on the SW side of Muldraugh is bugged, all of the windows on the back walls face the wrong way, so curtains and sheetropes are on the wrong side.  I built a small catwalk around the 2nd floor wall to reach the others just to test them out.  Also, some of the walls on the back left can be walked through which crashes the game.  Seems to be a common problem with 2nd floor buildings.

Muldraugh, 2 story warehouse, south of police station, the window on the north side accessible on the steel landing is facing the wrong side. The east facing window is fine, which faces frontward of the isometric. It's the back north window which is glitched.

When I set a sheet rope it positions itself along the inside of the wall instead of outside, thus if you climb out you fall and take damage.

Also found that the wall in the Gas-2-Go north west side you can just walk through the glass.

As for my version, the latest beta build on steam.

First, two houses in West Point where it's impossible for me at least to reach the 2nd floor. (Also in the same street. )

Second, in one of the houses also in the same street there is a bathroom closed off by a Bookcase, Im not sure if this is a misplacement or intended.

Project Zomboid Version: Steam version 2.9.9.17 (0012B)

Hardware/OS: PC; Windows 7; 16 GB RAM; AMD Radeon HD 7800;
Bug:

The white house near X10770.7 Y10219.2; it's either this house or one very close to it (I did not experience the problem while I had the coordinate monitor up, I had to return later).  I have seen it happen in 2 of my 3 visits (the third time I went the house was empty) with a total of 3 zombies.

Zombies who are inside the house and detect you will climb out through the door as if it was a window, playing the same animation and passing through the door.  Both times this occurred, both the door and the window directly next to it were closed.  Zombies could climb out of the house through the door as if it was a window but could not return: in 2 of 3 cases turning and beginning to headbutt the door, in the third coming after me.

Thanks guys :)

I think some of these are due to how some of the old buildings were built; I'm in the process of rebuilding everything in the building editor, which should eliminate some of those "what the...?" bugs ;)  Most should be done by the next build, but there may be a few holdouts.

Any walking-through-walls instances should hopefully be fixed in the next build.

Not being able to walk up stairs should be fixed.

Have fixed kitchen loot.

The sounds issue is not to do with the map, it's likely you hit some other bug.

Project Zomboid Version: Version 2.9.9.17 (0011)

Hardware/OS: PC; Windows 7 Professional; 16 GB RAM; Nvidia GTX 660; Intel core i7-3770k CPU 3.5Ghz

Good day all!

Similar bug to post #61, but different location. In West Point close to an Elementary School, there are two houses both with walls that you can walk through on the top floor. If you walk through either wall, it will cause a crash to desktop:

Crash1.jpg

House A has a wall in the top floor bathroom facing the street, which when walked through causes a crash:

Crash2.jpg

Likewise, house B has a wall in the top floor bedroom facing the street that also leads to a crash if you walk through it. Sorry I couldn't get a screenshot for House B, but my save game always starts me in the wall. No error report occurs when the game crashes to desktop for either bug.

Anyway, I hope that helps.

I'd also like to say what a great game this is despite some of the bugs. There's real potential in this game and I've felt that I've already got my money's worth. Keep up the great work guys... looking forward to the next update.

I repost this bug in the right place. I made a new thread instead of posting it here. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm new in here :)

Hi there, I'm a brand new survivor, and I must say I do love your game

I recently had a wierd bug:

I play on the "build 19" of the game (The most recent, I agreed to test the demo version)->repairing weapons available, etc

The bug occurs in this house (the one with the black arrow on it):

http://image.noelsha...-map-bug-pz.png

It is on the 2nd floor of the house, you can go through the end of the corridor (near the window), and when you go through, you are in the street and can go on.

this occurs here: http://image.noelsha...0709-pz-bug.png   , where the red arrow leads.

So if you go out from the 2nd floor to the street, the game is "ok", but if you are in the street and go through this missing wall, trying to come in the house, the game crashes. (have to ctrl+alt+del, etc)

I hope this bug report will help, since I'm looking forward for the next content. Thanks for this awesome game.

If there are english mistakes, it's because I'm french. I hope it's still understandable
