This game could do well with the addition of smoke detectors. I imagine they were required to meet fire code/standards.

 

I've never lit my kitchen on fire in real life, but if I did, I would like to think I would notice snake first, ya know, before the whole kitchen burns to the ground.

 

Heck, if smoke could be added as well, I think it it would be a great feature. Have it move from room to room ahead of the fire. Some kind of visual cue to the character, or some floating text above the character.

 

"I smell smoke." Would be suitable.
