Multiplayer Beta

Hi I would like to ask something .. is it possible to put a multiplayer beta this week despite the bugs that are there to play with a friend or two at the cost of playing with the bugs around the corner? Maybe even the players could give you a hand in the bug fixes of the multiplayer game ... It would be nice to play it in multiplayer beta since watching videos for now is stable apart from some bugs ... But only by hosting the game privately and not making it public .. Good job

It won't be released until it's ready for everyone to enjoy, because regardless of what we'd say about it being not ready everyone would join and it'd just be terrible all around. It looks stable in the videos because it's edited down to less than a minute. But there's bugs that don't make it overall 'playable' like teleporting zombies that end up biting you, and that's it, crashes that will destroy your save where you play six hours and crash and lose all progress and your character.

 

That's not to say it's awful or broken; but it's also not there yet. There's no distinction between having two players in a coop session, and x players in a larger session.

It's really not ready, to the point that we have a test group of about 100 and its hard to break 20 players unless we really really try and plead people in or get new people in to test it. This test group were as excited for multiplayer as you are and most of them aren't playing it when they have the opportunity. That should tell you something. That's not throwing shade at the testers, its completely understandable that this would be the case. It's 'getting there' and can be fun in moments, but its not a fun experience worth putting out there publicly yet.

It's hard, it sucks, it sucks for us especially believe me! We want it out there more than any player does. But us waiting until its at least close to ready before anyone outside a closed test group is best for the game in the long run.
