[41.47] Exercising gradually helping with boredom and uhappiness / not making the character bored and unhappy

I noticed the character getting bored (which leads to depression if stacked for too long) when exercising, like the game counts this activity as idling - so i opened this suggestion.

As title says, generally speaking physical exercise does help to soothe these irl -- perhaps even anxiety.

Some individuals may disagree or naturally not like physical activity, or have other side effects from it, in such case this could be represented by one or a series of selectable negative trait(s) in the character creation.

As complete opposite, some people can be fitness lovers so there could also be a positive trait (exercising increase happiness/boredom).

This could be a gradual, overtime effect (requires to exercise for quite some time), that way it won't be always preferred over smoking / drinking and other methods  which are otherwise more immediate, but come with their side effects.

There's a potential indicative trait that could be implemented here. If a player spends enough time exercising, perhaps they would gain a trait called 'Gym Rat' or something similar. While possessing the trait, exercise will lower boredom, but if the player is unable to maintain their fitness regime, they actually slowly gain anxiety or depression. The trait could be linked to possessing a high regularity of fitness workouts over a relatively long period of time.

The trait might also grant a better endurance regeneration as a reflection of the character's constant self improvement, making it an ideal trait to earn and maintain.

Then on the flip side, there could be a selectable trait like "Couch Potato" that causes increased anxiety and boredom when exercising. This could be lost by completing the same threshold it takes to become a "Gym Rat," adding an extra challenge.

Yes! Exercise releases endorphins so this 100% makes sense. It's literally recommended by doctors for depression (in cases where medication is not needed but even then is also recommended on top of that) regardless of "traits". Though traits could either negate or increase the effects? I often have very low stat characters and like building up their fitness/strength and they always strangely get depressed from it but never really considered it until your suggestion lol.
