The problem with connecting to a friend on the server

Players from older versions of the game cannot be loaded on this server.

What should I do? The server was rebooted, the game was reinstalled, the cache integrity was checked.

Could you explain further where this exact error is happening? Does it happen when connecting to a public server? Or are you connecting to a friends server? Or are you trying to start your own server and the error shows up there.

I connect to the friends server. Everything was fine 1 time, the next day when the final download this error flies.

Alright good to know, you should be able to fix this by going to "C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid\Saves\Multiplayer" on your computer.
In that folder, either find a folder with the name "servertest" or "servertest_player" or even a folder with the IP of your friend, should look like "192.168.1.0_RandomTextAndNumbers"

Open the folder and delete the "map_ver.bin" file in that folder. After that try logging into your friends server again.
Just to make clear, the folder could be named after your friends setting file or your friends IP, there should only be one of those folders, so delete the map_ver.bin file in those. If there are multiple folders like that, just delete the file in all of them.
