EvgenGrom
Will there be a plot? Is it worth it to wait?
trombonaught
I think no to the plot- my unfounded understanding is that the game will generate mostly random NPCs to interact with that will develop their own "stories" as they go, with a few set NPCs that will recur with their own associated events or something like that. A plot suggests a climax and resolution, but I think that kind of structure would work against the "Story of How You Died" vibe.
Axezombie
If I'm not mistaken they planned to make a story mode with NPCs

To go with what trombo said, I feel like a plot with like, and ending would work against the idea of you staving off your character's inevitable demise. aquelarrefox
i hope chains of events, but not a plot, the freedom is quiet good in an´ apokalipsys
ohgodspidersno
In earlier versions (waaaay back) the game's tutorial was a rather short, skippable story with you as a husband trying to care for his wife, whose leg was broken. It lasted a few days and guided you through the basics of looting, barricading a building, etc. The dev's blog has said repeatedly that they are eventually going to bring that back. But I don't think there's ever going to be a big expansive story.
