Nice improvements! i always love to have the option to individually customize.

Do you ever thought about to implement some sort of audio logs? like phone records or radio transmissions ect...

Is there even the possibility to playback sound ingame from a specific object?

• Note-Items have no further use once all of them have been found

You could make them craftable to some sort of book what gives you xp or fire material or house decorations

Goddamnit. I think this might be one of the last things I ever write, I was bitten by one of those bastards while I was trying to shove him into the bathroom. I can hear him clawing at the door now... god this hurts so much. I should have probably thought through putting the zombie in the one place I have a first aid kit. First mistake right there, but such is life I guess. I feel for something that's going to be the last thing I ever write should be profound. You know some great historical quote, that all the historians will look back on during this time and say "That was the definitive piece of writing during this time." Then again will there be historians after all this, or are we doomed to die. I mean there wouldn't be anymore school, so that's something. God why did I waste so much time in school only to die like this. I mean apart from Mrs Gould all the teachers were awful. I wonder what she's doing right now? For that matter I wonder what Billy Jones is doing right now. I don't even know if he is still alive, but he was a bit of an ass, so if he is dead it could be worse. Always loved those damn Animal Crackers. I mean it's not like I didn't like them or anything, I just kind of felt they were bland. Now those animal crackers with the chocolate side. They were amazing. I'm pretty sure the shop is doing a deal on those at the moment, maybe I should go down and pick some up. Maybe call Billy Jones, see if he's busy this afternoo... *the writing trails off.*

 

Oh right. I don't think historians will look back on this as the definitive writing after all. Screw 'em.

You know all this time being stuck in here listening to them scratching and moaning on the doors it makes me think. What would it be like to be a zombie. I mean, it would suck going through to the stage where you become one, but I mean how bad would it be? No worries, no pains. Just kind of chilling with the gang...

I don't think I've ever been to a house that didn't have sugar in it (in America). In fact, the only person I've ever known that didn't have sugar in the house was in fact a South African that was over here for school.

That story wasn't aimed against Americans sugar supplies, but to PZ spawnrate of sugar I believe.There should be also story about despair man chopping trees with frying pan . In that moment i though "Wow that was quick,they must have really good frying pans in Muldraugh".

Trying to understand these zombies habits is very interesting. I think I'm beginning to understand how the hordes start. There's a noise, some zombies go over to investigate, when they hear another noise they go over to investigate that, but of course others begin investigating too. So what you get is this, 1 plus 1 = 2. Then those two go over to another location and are joined by another one so it becomes three. Over time they just collect into huge groups of people. As I have thought about my original hypothesis on how a zombie horde is made, I am struck with a realisation that hordes may become the only way you spot a zombie. Over time, zombies will become attracted to the hordes and that's all that will be left. Hordes. Individual zombies will become a thing of the past, they will be giant mobs of people. On the bright side it would become easier to clear downs, but devastating if they were to ever come by a safehouse. I'm going to start leaving my notes around the place, in the event it helps anybody else. I don't know how long I'll survive in this world, I'm only a scientist. - Dr Henry Derwin

My previous observation of hordes, may be slightly off. They are certainly not collecting how I thought they would, and certain zombies will often stray from the pack. As long as someone keeps on top of hordes before they become too much of a problem, then everything will be alright. If not however, I fear they will be able to knock down houses in seconds if they may suspect somebody is nearby. Hopefully some traps might quell numbers, but who knows? - Dr Henry Derwin

This will be my final note, in my haste I forgot to make sure nothing saw me get into the house but it appears I was spotted... by a horde. Irony I guess? Who knows. In any case I have been trying to figure out the origin of this disease and see if people can be saved, but I just don't have the equipment necessary to perform such tests. I guess, right now it doesn't really matter. I haven't heard anything from outside Knox County since this all began. Have they been overrun? Are they successfully holding it back? Who knows. I can only hope, that other survivors succeed where I fail. The only advice I can give now, is close all the windows and turn off the lights, do not let one of those things know you are in a house or building. If they do, they're banging will attract more of then, it will become a bigger and bigger problem until you get to the point where you are writing a note with full understanding that you're demise is near. Best of luck to whoever comes across this note. I would appreciate it, if you were to kill me if I come back as one of those. - Dr Henry Derwin

It's descending into madness around here. Zombies seem to be the least of our worries, we're wondering how long food supplies will last, since they are finite. We need to start farming soon, or we won't survive winter.

I keep hearing gunshots coming from all over the place, I don't dare investigate, but at least it's comforting to know other people are still out there fighting. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one alive anymore.

Those damn news choppers! They need to stop buzzing over the place, it keeps aggravating those things. I tried signalling to one of them, they floated around for a bit then disappeared. What happened to the no fly zone around here, huh?!

My brother keeps telling me not to worry about the reports on TV, as it's just "The media being the media" and "blowing everything out of proportions" still, it's keeping me up at night. What if this outbreak is worse than they thought? Maybe I should visit my relatives in Canada for a while, until this whole things blow over. I don't want to be stuck down here if it gets worse than people thought.

I got to say, I'm loving this society. Before nobody would hire me because I used to be a criminal. So what? I did a bit of breaking and entering, who hasn't? Hell, now that ability is quite the luxury to have. I keep hearing people tripping house alarms and making so much noise when they enter a building. Me? The things never know I was even in there. It's great! I kind of hope none of this gets sorted, I'm like a kid in a candy store, no need to worry about the cops just those dumbos. As long as you don't get cornered or do anything stupid, you're fine! Don't have a clue how those idiots even became one of those things in the first place. Guess it's just the stupidest people of the population being weeded out. Ha!

I had to rewrite large portions of my code because there were some problems with saving the stories correctly. On the bright side, that also optimized the spawning and loading of stories as well as the general internal "handling" of the stories.

Installation & mise à jour :

- Installer le mode et aller dans lé répertoire "Stories" là où sont les fichiers texte TXT contenant les notes/lettres :

C:\Users\[Votre Nom de Session Windows]\Zomboid\mods\RMSurvivorStories\Stories

*Users = Utilisateurs quand on y va par les icônes, mais si on tape/copie l'adresse c'est "Users"

 

2 méthodes (tout d'un coup ou un par un) :

 

1) Tout d'un coup (1ère installation) :

- Télécharger le fichier ZIP

- Vous supprimez le dossier "Stories" pour le remplacer par celui

contenu dans fichier ZIP, que vous décompressé bien sûr.

- C'est fini !

 

2) Un par un (mise à jour) :

- Pour ajouter une ou des notes/lettres : Télécharger le(s) nouveau(x) fichiers manquants + "StoryLoader.txt"

- Ajouter le nouveau fichier toujours dans le répertoire "Stories"

- Pour mettre à jour une note/lettre : Téléchargé seulement le fichier TXT qui diffère du votre, si le titre n'a pas été changé pas besoin de remplacer StoryLoader.txt

 

INFOS :

On peut à notre guise en ajouter, en modifier ! Il suffit comme vous avez du le comprendre de créer un fichier texte d'y rédiger correctement sont histoire, ou de se faire aider, puis d'inscrire le nom du fichier en entier avec son extension et en respectant la casse des mots. Prenez exemple sur les noms de fichier déjà faits. Si vous vous en faites des perso que vous ne partagez pas -> attention quand vous remplacez le fichier StoryLoader.txt, du coup

 

Je propose que l'on se concerte entre francophones pour officialiser, les nouvelles officielles et ajouter les nouvelles officielles françaises que certains d'entre vous auront l’audace de partager

Je rentre tout juste de l'hôpital. Il se passe quelque chose de sale là-bas. Les gens deviennent fous! Il ya un tas de gens là-bas qui sont vraiment malade, ils vomissent leur tripes, et quelques personnes sont mortes. Un médecin parlait même de nécrosement interne...Je n'ai jamais entendu parler d'une maladie de ce genre.

Les médecins ont un couple de patients en observations. Ils ont dit quelque chose au sujet d'une fièvre qui fait faire des hallucinations et rend violents les gens. Un des hommes malades m'a griffé assez méchamment sur le bras. Heureusement, une infirmière était là. Elle m'a désinfecté et bandé le tout et dit que tout irait bien, mais pour être honnête, je me sens un peu mal à l'aise. J'espère que je n'ai pas chopé la saloperie qu'avaient tout ces gens.

Sinon, les émeutiers de Muldraugh ont encore aujourd'hui fais parler d'eux, mais nous allons invoquer la loi une loi sanitaire avec cette fièvre pour les disperser plus vite. Espérons que demain tout sera revenu à la normale. C'est des jours comme aujourd'hui qui font que j'en plus d'attendre de rentrer voir ma femme et mes enfants!

And modify the .TXT stories loader if we modify a file name already existing or add an other story ?

 

i search in others files nowhere I found the name of the stories so I guess the spawn don't work with their name, only with the Storyloader.txt

 

I just read about the future <command> in the storyloader.txt it's fabulous !

 

I'll translate all the officialised stories in French if needed

Hey Robo! Wanted to bump this thread in case you're ever thinking of updating it. Simply because it was such a great immersion mod! I also have an idea on how to slightly extend the capabilities by adding spawn to Mailboxes. As we can now edit the tile definitions of existing tiles with the mapping tools, I've managed to twiddle existing Mailboxes into containers.

 

 

I just thought that it'd bring a new element of realism to this mod. Reading peoples bills and love letters. So if you ever decide to update and wish to add spawn to Mailboxes, just give me a PM, unless you figure it out yourself, which is quite likely with your knowledge.
