Story Mode

Hi everyone!

 

I have a new concept to present to you called: Story Mode. (well, I hope it hasn't been done before...)

It's basically a saved game shared to the community with a main objective to complete on a customized map.

No, not a new map, it is the vanilla map but as if it has been played by someone else already and modified in a way to make it interesting and to tell a story with some lore and "side-missions" etc

 

So to explain it clearly I'll talk about the scenario I made:

You have been hospitalized and evacuated to a safe zone at the start of the apocalypse, 1 month after you finally came back to Kentucky to search for your wife, Kate and your adventure begins here: https://map.projectzomboid.com/#0.9635435446870765,0.26240215100153297,250.816655867745  you have to go to March Ridge where Kate is supposed to be.

 

Along the road you'll find some notes left by survivors, most of them are important, they can give you hints about interesting locations, where you could find some stuff... You'll see the afterwards of the apocalypse:

What you have to download:

Paste it into your map folder (Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid\media\maps)

Paste it into your sandbox presets folder (Users\YOUR_NAME\Zomboid\Sandbox Presets)

I made the settings pretty hard so it couldn't be done too quickly, without spoiling too much: insane population, extremely rare loots, no electricity, no water, dead car batteries...

Paste it into your save folder (Users\YOUR_NAME\Zomboid\Saves\Sandbox)

 

Once you have everything launch PZ, load the save "Till_death_do_us_part" choose the right spawn location "Middle of nowhere, KY" make your character, call him Bob because you're supposed to be Bob in this story and enjoy

 

I made it for players not knowing what to do for fun and getting bored of the game, and obviously for the ones who like stories/roleplay and I hope it'll give you the will to do the same thing.

What I did is not exceptionnal, it's the first time I write some story and english is not even my native language so it could be a bit deceiving, but I'm sure some people around here could make some epic and well written stories and maps and share it to the community.
