Game worn't launch.

Nectus

Question

Hello.

So I just returned to this game.
It had not been uninstalled since last I played it.
How ever, now it wornt open up.

I have tried reinstalling the game (several times)

Updating me drivers.

Updating Java (cause ... well..)
Removing every single bit of ProjectZombiod I could find.
Went to ..\common\ProjectZomboid    and ran both ProjectZomboid32 and 64 as admin and without admin.
Tried every step from EnigmaGrey

Nothing helped. it still doesn't open. The only thing that opens it the consol and a small Project Zomboid "icon" in upper left corner. (see image)

Error shown

I am on a predator 17" with a Nvidia Geforce 970m graphiccard. (see image)

Spec

Next step I can find is to reinstal my entire computer and I would like to avoid that.

This is the PasteBin
https://pastebin.com/ye1UKhq4

After 10-15 minutes it starts adding text "1547127067991 znet: ZNetFriends::OnPersonaStateChange" and a new line then comes every 5th minute or so. (variates a bit)

I found that when using an external monitor with my laptop, the game wouldn't load past the console. It worked fine when using the laptop screen instead. Not sure if this is related to your problem? I tried some of the other recommendations also such as changing the steam overlay, but in the end it was the external monitor, in my case at least.

Hmm.. I don't think I have tried only running on one screen actually.
I would honestly HATE if that was the problem :)
Did you open the game on the laptop monitor or did you unplug the external monitor?
I will try both when I get home.

Also, thanks for replying :)

Have tried to work a lot on it now.
Tried reinstalling again.
Removed settings folder in %user%.
Changed the option.ini to make sure it was not fullscreen.

I got a bit closer. But still no game. See image.

Edit/
So I got pissed, and reinstalled my entire computer. Wiped EVERYTHING. There was not a trace of my old computer left besides the specs.
I installed my normal programs, steam, Project Zomboid.
Made sure every driver was updated.
Tried to launch the game:

And the same error happened.
Game seems to start as it should. but the screen doesn't show image.
I am really out of ideas now :(

Have you tried changing the DPI of the game and in the windows settings as said in the guide? It seems to be mainly a problem with the game not showing up and not an actual game error, could be a problem with the screen and DPI settings as said.

Sorry for the slow reply.
I quit trying for a while.

In windows settings I have tried to change the DPI to almost every possible solution.

I am not sure how to do it in PZ.

I agree, I have sound and either a white screen or a small "logo" in top left corner.
I have also tried changing screens, that didn't help.

Alright.
So I tried again.
* Reinstalled my entire computer (Not reset, reinstalled)
* Tested drivers, found a few and installed them.

* Installed Steam.

* Installed Project Zomboid.

Same error.
PZ opens "fine", just only sound and a white screen.

Does this game not work with Windows 10?
