Wake up another player option removed?

I used to play split screen with some friends and I used to have the option of going over to them and interacting with their character I could with do a medical check or I could wake them up while they were in sleep mode. Now I cannot and I was wondering will this feature be added back in later? And I’m also curious why it was taken out, I really liked the premise of it.
