Multiplayer Character Transfer

Lynx

Question

I started a local multiplayer game with three characters.  I want to move a character to another computer so that I can host a server and they can continue to play with the same character remotely.

I determined that the character i'm looking for was saved under map_p2.bin.

I transferred the map_p2.bin to the other computer but it wont give the option to continue with the character.  I renamed it map_p.bin and it gives a old version error.  I got it to work by leaving the file named p2 and creating a new character and then adding a second player(the character I want) to that computer.  The problem is that now you have to split screen with an unused character even though only one person is playing on that machine.

I'm guessing that renaming the file doesn't work because there is something in the actual file that denotes whether it is a player 1 character or a secondary character.  I tried a few copypastas in a hex editor hoping I would strike gold but I had no idea what I was doing and got an error every time.

Any help?
