bpdlr
Not sure if this is intentional or not, but if you move a normally solid piece of furniture in front of a window, it suddenly isn't solid anymore. Is this to stop players blocking off windows?

For example a building with one window with a sofa in front of it and a locked door.

Wasn't the point of making furniture moveable so that you could block off window and doors, or was it just so you could decorate your base with pretty stuff from other people's homes? I think this was implemented before the movable furniture update, that's as far as I know.
Kurogo
It was. Anything placed in front of a window becomes passable.
Rass
From what I remember, bar segments built by players used to work as solid barriers while allowing you to look or shoot through a window. Not sure if that's still the case.
Arsenal26
Large trash dumpsters work in terms of blocking.... I usually put them on the outside.
Faalagorn
Without this mechanic, you could also get stuck when using sheet ropes descending to a furniture.
