Zomboid not starting

Question

Hi there,

I purchased the above game through Steam.  When I press play in Steam it opens a window momentarily and then disappears.

Can you please assist?

I have:

1. validate my install and it comes up fine.

2. disabling my Norton firewall and anti virus.

3. running it in compatibility mode.

4. disabling the Steam overlay

5. check my graphics driver is up to date.

I could not find the options file to try that as the game does not open.  Which specific files do I need to change?

My Sys Info is below.

Thanks

PJ

Your PC looks okay from what I can see.

From my own understanding (just saw this before I pop off for sleep) there should be a error.log file in the Zomboid directory if it crashes in a strange way.
Albiet I'm a Windows 7 user so these paths might not be 100% right.

Path should be: Installed Drive\Program Files (x86)\Steam Directory\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid.

If you find it, best post it here so someone can analyse what has gone wrong.

Otherwise there is the console file, which should be in the User folders.

Path should be Windows Main Drive:\Users\%YourLoginUser%\Zomboid (example:C:\Users\MalonyJenkins\Zomboid). Should be a console.txt file, not as useful as the error log but it might help ascertain whats going wrong. If you see anything in there worth noting might be worth posting. Assuming the file generated.

Hope that helps.
