mainstreet for a last of us map im working on, took me about an entire day to finish... every single room is completely hand furnished, not a single bit of copy pasting done (except for eyedropping furniture)

besides that i have about 19 other buildings ready for my map and if everything goes fine it should be finished tonight or tomorrow

meant to post this into the discord but people are currently talkin bout a dif map that just released and i dont wanna look like i wanna grab attention from it or anything, just to clarify these buildings arent gonna be for public use although im planning to maybe release the map pack buildings later on at some point

Neato. :] These are some of my favorite type of places to loot. You might get lucky and get literally everything you need in just a few days of hard work.

Gartz! Gud jorb!

XD thanks a lot man im currently in the process of turning around all my buildings which is takin a bit of time as many require refurnishing and retiling because i used some special roofworking that the tommys settlement houses had like this

then ill import the maps ive finished into worlded and populate it and if everything works out release a beta version of it before goin to bed

everything went fine, although i didnt manage to rotate all of the buildings due to the mentioned retiling and refurnishing problems

first release will include the map along with tommys settlement (road layout recreated 1:1 as possible thanks to freako's mod menu hacking videos he showed the settlement up close and from perspectives u werent able to see in game so big thanks to him) along with 7 different as closely as possible recreated buildingsfrom the game (the one above for example) and a lot of buildings taken from real life western american lakeside towns, a completely handmade and custom mainstreet lot with 11 different stores to explore along with 2nd story living spaces above (corner commercial buildings have 2-3 of those) amounting to about like 24 i think different places to scavenge all hand created in ~11 hours of work etc..

2nd release will include the lakeside resort and the 3rd release might include the town you face david in including the bar and grill

heres a draft i did of the general idea

in early concept art for davids town they provided some drafts on signs and they all said "grizzlys bar and grill" so i just included this there for a while although it will all be moved south into davids town once im starting work on it and the entire map will be repositioned properly

buuuuut your question gave me an idea to add some lore into the rather empty wilderness and general area, althought im trying to keep this map as pre infection looking as possible so all the destruction, blood splatter, overgrowth, grime and dirt etc all add up with the games erosion system and the actions of whatever the players do instead of being pre built into the map as is so the 'lore' will probably be reduced to maybe a small national guard outpost somewhere on the freeways' end and some low + high blinds and cabins in the wild

Bruh you should have had a title that said these were custom-made buildings. These need more attention!

Also, I'd like to ask, How hard is it to make maps using the map tools? I wanna make my own city square because I feel like none of the ones in-game are as dense as my city (Atlanta, Georgia), and few would be as cool to explore as it would be to explore a real city.

Making a city is a great task to realize you can review the Manhattown map, if you want to feel a great city atmosphere.

you gotta think about how many buildings you want / how much variety and you need to more or less calculate the spaces they take up when doing the map etc this map took about a week to do completely and the mainstreet building ive shown were 12 hours collective work on and off but

you may as well find a lot of enjoyment from making a map / designing buildings and you may just end up making the biggest ever map for pz featuring an 1:1 recreation of atlanta

in the end id say just go for it, dont let anything or anyone tell you "its too hard and time consuming to do"

atoxwarrior's right pretty much its a hard task but if you have the freetime or just determination on hand you can do it easily, its just a lil frustrating at times when things dont work out or the guides dont tell you everything and you gotta figure stuff out yourself

Thanks! Free time is my biggest issue, but I would probably enjoy doing this because I'm a sketch/pixel artist and musician, and I've always wanted to get into game design. This would allow me to test my abilities. The only major problem I can see before even getting started is my city's parking garages and my city's spaghetti junction, which is mostly above the city. I might have to remove that and rework the highways altogether.

I've driven by many of the locations found in TWD, because, as many people know, it was made in Atlanta. So, this could tie in well with the Walking Dead project as well.
