issues with co-op

me and my friend trying to setup a pz coop together to have some fun. wed never done it before. he started up a server and invited me. I was on the main menu of pz and I clicked accept in steam chat. the game info came up and it said server not responding. we tried several other tweaks but it kept saying that. then I tried to host and the invite player button was not in the pause menu of the game at all. we dunno whats happened or how to fix it. pls help

If you two are on different versions of the game, it can cause this error. e.g. if one is in IWBUMS and the other is on build 36, the game will just fail to connect.

 

It's also possible (given that you don't see the invite button) that you're not playing on a Steam-enabled server. Both client and host need to have the Steam version of the game to play, or be using the -nosteam flag (which means invites no longer work). You should see the word (Steam) by the version number on the main menu.

to my knowledge where doth on the same version and both of us are using steam. what do u mean a steam enabled server though?
