Server memory, 1.25 GB only?

I used to allot at least 8GB of ram for the server months ago when I and my friends were still playing the non-steam version of the game.

I could easily change of server memory by editing the commands in the file "ProjectZomboidServer".

 

Then recent updates made hosting server in the game easier and way easier to play with mod in the server, so we resume playing steam version.

But now when I host the server, the options of server memory are just 0.75GB, 1GB and 1.25GB.

Does it look too few? It does to me as I experience lagging like a 1-sec freeze every 15-20 sec of playing.

It did not happen when I was hosting the non-steam server with 8GB of ram.

 

So is there a way to give the server more ram when using the in-game method to host server?

Select the 64-bit option when launching the game from Steam.

Ah...the option didn't show up after the first launch.

But I just need to right click the game in the library to launch the 64 bit version.

One more thing, is there a way to host a server but not joining it?

Not with easy co-op, no. Setting up a dedicated server can be more difficult, but if you just want something that's always up without your having to be there, that's the way to go. There's a guide for it on Steam.
