tools links, tuts are outdated need to make a map, but cant

Well every link to download a tool is outdated and every tutorial is outdated and using old tools. Which tools do I use? The Tiled tool from easy pickens does not load my town.png or town_veg.png file

so what do I do?! 

 

No eta on creative mode and I've been trying to make a map for 3 years, yet nothing works and there is not one tut that has accurate information I can use to get it to work.

 

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Alright so I've gone on a rampage for a few hours and managed to find everything I need. Once I figure this stuff out I will create a new video tutorial which will hopefully save newbies some time in getting started.

Something up to date would be really helpful. I'd also be really interested in seeing anything on the 3d engine being used and how to mod it.

Try asking people like ORMtnMan who created mods including 3D models. Even if they aren't always the ones who created those models, they should be able to tell you who did and therefore... How!
