IsoPlayer modData not syncing to other clients

after setting modData on a player via their own client.  This modData does not sync to other players clients.  How can I make it so?

 

I tried player:transmitModData();

 

but no good

As far as I know, it can't be synced between clients. Ran into the same issue with world item mod data. Only way would probably be to half-ass it by sending/receiving commands that then write the appropriate mod data.

 

There is an event tied to mod data, though: Events.SendCustomModData.Add(blarg) What it does, I've no clue. It's used by the trapping system, in one instance, but it appears IsoGridSquare based.
