Okay here goes.... TFT ITL WEIGHT CARRIED pg. 35 For STR 1 this works as follows; > STR = 1kg > x2 STR = 2kg > x3 STR = 3kg > x4 STR = 4kg > x5 STR = 5kg carry = 7kg lift = 10kg shift = 25kg (anyone spot the trick with the numbers for lift/shift?) Next I would like to remind yall of the following... 1 Newton is the force needed to accelerate a 1kg mass 1m per sec^2 Then there is this from the Weapons Table (MUCH more on this later)... Hatchet* 1d6 dam, 1kg weight. This begs the question "What is a point of damage and can it be quantified?" a little data here... The Discovery Chanel has been running several VERY useful programs here in the states. Of specfic note are Mythbusters, Fight Science and the new Human Weapon. Last week on 'Human Weapon' in an episode on Mui Thai (science of eight limbs) the following fact was mentioned; A typical brick can withstand over 675ft lbs of force before breaking. This is just at the limits of the force able to be generated by the human hand. (my words here) According to 'Fight Science' a Kali stick is swung with over 1200ft lbs of force. In this system it's the weight (and length but that's later) that matters so 1200/200 = 6 hmmmm If I can say that 1pt of dam = about 200ft lbs of force, then............. 1 ft lb = 1.356 joules 1 joule = 0.24 calories 1 BTU = 252 calories = 1,054 joules 1 watt = 3.4129... BTUs and this brings up an intresting point. If energy equals power times time and the power formula P=EQ/T is multiplied by time to give energy, the equation then reads E(sub n)=EQT/T and time will cancel out. Therefore energy is actually something that may do work if given a chance but has no reference to time itself. This has implications for scale, but for now... remember that brick? @1pt dam = 200ft lbs it takes 4pts dam to break the brick. Let's see how this jibes... TFT AM COMBAT WITH BARE HANDS, DAGGERS, CESTUS, OR CLUB pg. 21 So no chance to break a brick until STR11 and a gaurentied break at STR25 seems reasonable so far.... more later....
