Homemade metal weapons/tools

Not sure if this is a thing, I'm playing a metalworker and just thought that i should be able to take my metal bar and my knife and weld them together for a spear.

maybe make a slower saw out of sheet metal, and a metal tube.

Spears are already in the game, he just wants a variant that uses a metal bar/rod instead of a stick.

 i meant this one, but well why not in full iron, but i think thats more for blacksmithing instead of metalworking

I think full-metal tools (hammers, axes, sledges, bats) should be added, DIY or looted. Heavy but almost eternal.

Hammers are pretty popular, so are small metal hatchets (for camping), DIY welded sledgehammers are often used for some rough building jobs (made of rusty metal scrap, look terrible, but crush concrete).

I just want the ability to maintain and (effectively) repair tools. Hopefully that gets added with blacksmithing, like the ability to make a new handle to repair the head of an axe.
