Question

Hello there survivors.

I've been wonderin' if it was possible to POST any older versions of the game.

I have attempted to contact lemmy and others - No responses, thats why i setup a thread for this.

Just to make it clear - I do not want to create some kind of market of older versions, without the permission of the actual creators :I

This' maybe be a request to the creators setup a thread of links of older versions too.

As this has been already responded i decided to add the links:

Version 1.5d https://www.dropbox.com/s/lgrfdy3ugaxt45u/Project%20Zomboid%201.5d.rar

Version 0.2Q  https://www.dropbox....a/pz_0_2_0q.zip Credit to Enigma

Version 2.0R 2.5  https://www.dropbox....Zomboid_RC2.exe Credit to Enigma

Hello everyone! I'm sorry for my bad English, but I managed to get Project Zomboid 1.5 to work again and I'd like tell you how I did it! So, here is what you need to do:

1) Editing hosts file

If you're not sure how to edit the hosts file, please, read this: https://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-7/windows-7-hosts-file/

Add this line to your hosts file and save it.

127.0.0.1 www.desura.com

It will now redirect any requests from www.desura.com to 127.0.0.1 (your local server which I explain how to install later).

2) Installing the server.

I personally prefer XAMPP as it's both convenient and reliable.

https://www.apachefriends.org/index.html

Download the server installer, install it.

3) Adding a script.

Open the folder you installed XAMPP to, open htdocs, create a folder named "external", create a folder named "games", download the projectzomboid.php file from attachments to this post and put it to the "games" folder.

4) Last step

Run the server, run the game, enter your key or login/password and now it should work fine!

P.S. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

It's fine to post links to previous versions of the game.

To simplify this statement though, let's limit it to 1.5d, 2.0q and 2.0r 2.5.

Oh i might aswell add some other test versions!

1 Question, shall i create another post with all of my available versions (+ enigmas)? or just edit this one?

It's there a way to play 2.0q without a desura login? I bought the game on Steam, and i would like to see how the game have evolved.

Nope. Back then it still had a basic DRM.

Thanks for the links, went to play older versions today and my folder seems to have been deleted for some odd reason.

They don't have the ability to delete themselves. =/

Antivirus? Crazed nephew? Wrong directory?

Huh. In 2.0q, if I try to play Sandbox, it just hangs on a black screen. Shame, I was hoping for a little blast from the past.

Where does it hang?

It did hang immediately after I would click "Sandbox", but rebooting the game worked. That was... Strange, to say the least. But hey, it works! NOSTALGIA TRAIN, AWAY!
