Does anyone know any good pixel drawing programs?

I remember there was a pixel animation sprite thingy that I think binky made, and that there's a link to that in the forum, But I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to work with that, so either a link to a pixel drawing program or to a tutorial about binky's program, it would be much apreciated :)

The link to binky's animation program's thread: http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/142-pulchritudinous-paint-animation-v05/#entry2069

I use this for programmer art: http://pyxeledit.com/

To each their own though.

I vote RoboMat and Connall team up to develop a game with Karen as the artist and me as the writer :D

And noone gets paid, yay!

Do it for the "exposure" and the "experience" :P

I'll host your website! And setup your forums. As long as you promise not to use phpBB2. ;)

If I ever did get to the point of hosting forums, I would probably go for something like IP.Board. I've used SMF and MyBB before and they never tickled my fancy. IP.Board is one of the few that I really fell in love with. Feels so slick.

Edit: By the by, I might have some very rudimentary networking to show off soon.

Im confused if you guys are actually planning this or if it's just a joke  :P

Well I'm genuinely going to try and make a game, I imagine Kirrus offer was geniune since it was brought up before. I'm sure Rathlords offer was genuine for writing. Whether we would all get together and do something? Don't know, don't think so.

If only experience paid the bills. :P

I'd love nothing more than to join up and do something like that. Unfortunately, right now I'm working full time on getting full-time work. ^^; My days are spent building my portfolio and sending out applications.

But who knows. I always have sparetime projects even when I have work. Maybe this could be one at some point.  :)

Quite right too! If I was going to contract an artist, I would show them my work see if they're interested but I would probably try and pay them as well. "Experience" & "Exposure" is a load of pish when working with an unknown, or a project you have no idea could actually come to be.

Ya, the only time I see that kind of work being okay is when they're coming in as partners, with a solid agreement for profit sharing or pay once the project takes off.

I feel that's fair, I also feel you will probably pull people in if you got something to show for your work. People play the game, see if they enjoy it. Otherwise the work they could be doing is all for nothing. Easy to work for free when you got a project you can really believe in.

Edit: I've been a part of most projects where they just kind of die, either due to lack of drive or any passion on part of the participants. It's why I generally feel this way and that sometimes, money isn't (and shouldn't be) a lasting incentive.
