Made the axe that's meant to be used in the game.. Those aren't the final textures.

I think the bigger question is, why are you asking Karen?

Let's just ignore that.

Gee, where'd that clock come from?

And why does it have an axe in it?  ;-)

Out of curiosity how you building the levels?

Like a lego house.. Cube by Cube.  :cry:

So modular? It's really useful building scenes using modularity; piece by piece. You can get loads more done in a shorter span of time since you're not making large models and UV Unwrapping all the time.

In case you have no idea what I'm talking about:

Not mine: Image Source

You'd model one type of wall, unwrap and texture it, then duplicate that around the scene. Rinse and repeat with other things like pillars, windows, corner sections, etc.

If you ever get particularly serious (since this costs a bit of money) then you may want to explore ProCore/ProBuilder

Hehe.. Thanks, but I'm, not 100% if level design is something I Want to go into.. At-least not 3D level design.

I mean more in the sense you do this on a regular basis, Unity's stuff for building levels is seriously lacking. It's a shame it requires a third party in order to really kind of complete what (I would kind of consider) is an integral part to an engine.

I'm not even sure what to call unity at this point to be perfectly honest.

A piece im working on composing. The bulk is done but the bass part needs revision. i've taken a mini hiatus in editing it recently though due to a form of musicians block.

I'm not much of a music composer really.. I tried playing the keyboard in middle school, but I couldn't read notes - I just didn't process it.

Yet I'm sitting here using lines of  code.  :-|

Speaking of which, my tutor just basically got the door for the starting room to open.. Only took  me us him half an hour.

(clyde)  Dancing clyde for an opening door!

The door once opened

And the magical code that opens the bastard thing!

Vector rotation for the win!

I'd already tried like three different tutorials on it and none of them worked, then my tutor just kind of came in and tried a few of his own tricks, none of them worked as the door was REFUSING to rotate past 180 on the Y axis, so he tried that and rotated it on the X(?) axis, which caused it to spin out like a cat flung from a catapult.

So he adjusted it for a bit then switched it to the vector rotation.

I prefer C++.

EDIT:

My 700th post, didn't expect it to be in this thread.

I prefer C++.

Why?

Because I actually have reference material for it.

That and I'm trying to keep a positive head about C++ seeing as that's what I'll be using on the uni course if I get into it.

That surprises me, which University you going to? I wouldn't imagine it's something you would tackle until the later years of the uni.

This will probably not be terribly well received, but C++ is fairly... dated. I mean, clearly still widely in use for a million applications and great to learn, but learning C# is, in my opinion, a much better way to learn to code and (hopefully) more useful in the future.
