MP - Allow server owners to skill cap

Basically my suggestion is to make things a little more fair for new players on servers that want to do it. Allow server owners to set what level a new player starts a skill at and also to cap a skill server wide at any level they so choose.

Don't want some guy to dominate every new player because he's level 10 aiming and never misses? Have a option that lets the owner to cap the aiming skill at 5. To add to that, give everyone level 5 aiming at spawn so they're at the same playing field.

Don't want everyone sprinting around at the speed of sound? Allow server owners to cap at it level 3. Don't want people still blowing past others or make it easy as pie to outrun them as they'll never catch up? Make the spawn level 3 so they're on the same playing field.

Obviously these are just examples but that's what I'm trying to get at.

Also this is something that could be OPTIONAL, I'm not saying to change it completely if this is your vision for how multiplayer should work, but it's nice for the people that don't like getting destroyed by some guy thats maxed aiming and 1 shots your sorry ass with a rifle constantly.

I would really like to see this be added it would be awesome for adding more realism to any server.

Yeah, the point is there's people that aren't a fan of having level 1 aiming where you can't hit the broadside of a barn or level 10 where you could headshot a zombie 300 meters away with a handgun blindfolded. Also, there's absolutely no balance in it with the current system unless everyone's at the same level.

Or alternatively they don't mind the grind to get there, but they also don't want level 10 aiming where it's practically impossible to miss anything ever.

Or you could pull your self up by your boot straps! Capitalism!

Lol, it does sound very socialist doesn't it! Everyone is equal ;)

I support the idea though. I am all for more options for admins. Just because the option is there, it does not mean an admin has to use it. I for one wouldn't use it on my server, but I have nothing against others using it :)

Seems cool for some servers, but It's not like level 10 aiming or sprinting is an easy accomplishment. There are no books for these, so if you want to be good at killing players, you'd have to have a shitton of ammo and time. Also, death is still a thing. Just that you're good at shooting doesn't mean you won't be bitten on the ankle by a crawler or fall out of a window by accident.

I think it's fine as it is. People who have high levels have spent a lot of time training for that skill, so it's not overpowered unless they cheated it in at the beginning of the game or something of that sort.

the imbalance between new characters vs old characters is absolutely nuts.

And parallels the real world too!

Yes I'm fully capable of sprinting at mach speed and shooting 200 yards with no chance of missing because I ran for a few hours and spray and prayed to magically make myself a machine.

It's not something mandatory for every server, it's a feature that I know several want however because as I said it's completely unbalanced regardless of how much you "grind" to get there. Just because there's a grind to achieve it doesn't somehow make it not overpowered, it's still absolutely ridiculous that it's near impossible to miss and you'll more likely than not get a critical head shot when it does hit. One guy can completely dominate a server before a new player will ever get a fighting chance to hit him let alone kill him, there's nothing balanced about that. If this is Indie Stone's desire for the game then so be it, but for gods sake let there be some other option for people who don't want it and want everyone at a somewhat level playing field.

Oh I know from being on both sides.  But you got any recent evidence of that Almighty Enigma! Since the formation of OPEC my characters are as pure as the driven snow. We both know you have way bigger problems players on your server.  I'm a builder man.  Best bases on Redboid.

It's good that you admit it directly, to everyone. That's a great move.
