Matt_Rahl
**PROBLEM SOLVED...details on resolution provided in my 2nd post**Hi,I am having a problem hosting a server for my friends to join. I am able to join it (via localhost, as well as external IP [established by Hamachi]). I have hosted Project Zomboid in the past (pre-Steam server hosting change) successfully, as well as other video games successfully.Technical Details:- OS: Windows 7- PZ Version: Latest, 32.30 (confirmed same version for friends)- Port Forwarding: Accomplished via Hamachi, so router configurations for 16261-26270 unnecessary.- Hamachi: Confirmed via NetStat it listens, accepts my connections, and that connections with friends are working properly when doing "Diagnose" operations.- Firewalls: Disabled for IPv4 and IPv6, both router and software, for my computer and their computers.- AntiVirus: Disabled for my computer and their computers.- Install Details: Fresh Install for me and friends.- Connections: I am having my friends connect to me via Hamachi, then enter Project Zomboid (without the "-nosteam" property), then provide the external Hamachi IP and use port 16261.Error Messages When Starting Server:NONE! The "-nosteam" feature doesn't work for me or my friends, so I've abandoned that method. NOTE2:I have read MANY forums posts on this matter, to no avail. There have been many that seem to have my same problem who never received resolution. An example is the following one (where, yes, I've tried all the steps mentioned):- http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/15929-no-one-can-connect-to-my-server/
EnigmaGrey
Did you add -nosteam to the start-server64.bat, after zombie.GameServer (insert proper name here)?
Matt_Rahl
**Post edited With Resolution Instructions**For those having the same problem as me and who found this thread, here are some resolution details for connecting via "-nosteam".Steps:1. Provide "-nosteam" via Steam (you can do this by right-clicking on "Project Zomboid" within your Steam "Library", navigating to "Properties" and clicking on "Set Launch Options".2. Per EnigmaGrey (adding some additional detail for clarification though), you must modify the server initialization batch file.2.a. For "StartServer64.bat" - At the end of line where it reads "Zombie.network.GameServer", modify the line so it reads "Zombie.network.GameServer -nosteam".2.b. For "StartServer32.bat" - Same as above.3. Start the server using the batch file, as you normally would.4. Tell your friends to follow "Step 1" above.5. You should all be able to connect to the game now. *Thumbs up*
EnigmaGrey
Because you're both using hamachi, and are both connecting locally, it may not matter.
