Hey guys, so here it is, Bedford Falls Version 3! (Workshop V1)

post-66-0-04234000-1442953784_thumb.jpg

Visit the Steam Workshop page to subscribe: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=522891356 - don't forget to favorite and rate up! ;)

Decided to start a new thread to seperate the old from the new.

Bedford Falls now has proper zombie respawn mechanics, foraging, and a lot more zombies.

Subscribing to the mod on steam should make things a lot easier, just subscribe, load PZ, go to the mods screen and double click on Bedford Falls. All new games you start will now have Bedford Falls in the game world and available as a starting spawn point.

Report any/all bugs in this thread. Use Blincoder's awesome map ( http://pzmap.crash-override.net/ ) to get the coordinates of any bugs (click overlay Bedford on the left and then Map Coordinates further down) and then leave a post here with the coordinates and a brief description .

EDIT: a lot more zedz?  dunno if you've seen my video of Bedford Falls ( my ep06) we had a HUGE 300+ army of zedz continuously coming down the stairs of a underconstruction 5 level building..... not normal eh?)

OFFICIAL WORKAROUND UPDATE FROM V2 -> V3
for those who have old savegames of the V2

Here is the workaround Ive managed to do: =D

go to your steam/steamapps/workshop/

find the numbered folder with your project zomboid workshop mods, (which are all numbered also) now find the one with the BedfordFalls mod in it. copy it to your desktop.

leave everything in the BF folder. create a folder labelled Bedford Falls, KY
place the spawnpoints.lua, map.info, poster  in it (rename poster to thumb   ) ,
place the new folder ( Bedford Falls, KY  ) into your steam/steamapps/common/projectzomboid/media/maps/...
now oppen the Muldraugh,KY file within that path, copy everything from the Bedford Falls MOD version(all those lotheaers, worldheaders even the spawnpoints file, just not the MOD.INFO and POSTER delete those)
when asked, click yes to overwrite all.

i will post this in a more brief, simple way on the official forums later or tomorow.

enjoy !

alot of buildings seem to be broken.
As in doors that open into solid walls, windows that have the open sprite when closed, and the broken sprite when open, ect.
If you could look into that i'd be grateful.

Thanks.
I'll edit in the coords tomorrow to the neighborhood that has the most, i'm too busy right now to go look for the neighborhood on the map.

I still can't forage on this map?

I am using several different custom maps together so I created a BedFord Falls map folder in media/maps/ and dumped all of the chunk/load data files into the Muldraugh, KY folder overwriting them.

I also have BedFord Falls mod ticked in-game.

EDIT: Back again on the 3/10/15. Foraging still not working despite trying everything including replacing the object file. Something is definitely wrong with foraging. Unless like 90% of the woods to the North-East of the well are not foragable.

Just been playing some V3 on a mp server and encountered 2 very frustrating bugs in the military base In the northern buildings.

1) Stairs leading from warehouse to upper control room. Control room has no floor so fall down to warehouse.

2) Northern most building in mil base.. no tile at top of stairs so fall behind staircase, broken, and trapped

Hi

Could someone help me please, it seems the map is not loading despite being the latest available on steam. I found this picture on the previous thread of Bedford Falls from someone who had the same issue. i'll try to travel to the green part of it and see if it's just a part of the town not loading or all of it, and then edit this post.

EDIT 1 : Starting a new game in Bedford Falls works just fine.

EDIT 2 : The entire modded map doesn't work, not just a part as on the picture.

  • 2 weeks later...

There's a very cool building fairly close to where I spawned that seems to be three blocks of flats of varying heights all joined together. Unfortunately, while there are three sets of internal stairs, one for each block, the stairs only work in one direction - you can go up, not down. That's causing me a few problems, as I didn't discover this until I was on the penultimate storey of the tallest of the three blocks.

The buildings in question are (I think) here - I'm not quite sure how to get and paste coordinates from the map, so I hope I've got this right: http://pzmap.crash-override.net/?desc=BedfordFallsL0#0.27934028668047334,0.24759397910260783,408.5764936663755

This is because the stairs were placed right above or on top of each other. So basically... all the stairs are good going up but are blocked going down by the stairs on the lower floor. Or so it seems that way to me.

PS: Watch out for the elevator shafts, they'll screw you every time. It's a long drop from the 7th floor.

Aye, I walked into an elevator shaft on my first night in the building because I didn't realise what it is, and I've been trying to clear the building with a broken leg :/

I think as a temporary workaround, as I was lucky enough to find a sledgehammer and some pallets of lumber on my way to the building, I'm going to use the elevator shaft as a second staircase, and put stairs there on every other level, then take out half of the stairs that are already there.

Have just updated this on Steam. Now, upon selecting Bedford Falls for you world, you will be asked whether you would like to spawn in Bedford, Muldraugh or West Point.

This will stop the problem of Bedford Falls not loading when spawning in Muldraugh or West Point.

Just make sure you select Bedford Falls as your world first.

More updates coming soon focusing on building bugs (stairs, missing floor tiles etc).

Hi TheCautiousOne,

subscribe to the mod and let Steam download it, then look in your "...Steam\SteamApps\Workshop\Content\522891356" folder. All the files for Bedford Falls are in there.

I appreciate that, I did Find it. Copied it over to the C: Users/Me/Zomboid/Mods folder in order to try and incorporate it in my Online Server. ( I wish that I could explain myself better so yall could help me set my server up, but I will try the best I can)

Now. When I copied the file over to the Mods folder in the C: Drive. It Made a Duplicate Bedford Falls option in the Mods Section of the Game Screen. Where you click on and off the Mods you would like to Use in Single Player I suppose?

So I am wondering If I need to Delete the Steam/ Workshop Folder and Move them all into the Mods Folder in order to Be able to link and use the Maps in MP Server?

TCO

I've cleared this building out, and I think it's going to make for a very cool base: http://pzmap.crash-override.net/?desc=BedfordFallsL0#0.27934028668047334,0.24759397910260783,408.5764936663755

It has a few problems in addition to the issue with the stairs, though...

1.   In the northern end of the building, the stairwell on (I think) the fifth floor is missing a single wall tile, next to the stairs. It's difficult to spot, because it's up against the wall that seperates the stairs from the elevator shafts, and I only found it when I was running up the stairs, didn't pay attention and fell out of the building.

2.  The building has a lot of balconies, which are both nicely thematic and handy for camping out on. Unfortunately, they don't appear to have roofs. Although they all line up, so each balcony has a balcony above it, you get wet if it rains while you're standing on them, regardless of the level of the building you happen to be on. I'm not sure if it's a case of the floor tiles not acting as a roof or something else, but it's scuppered my hopes of planting carrots and radishes.

3.   Of the two sets of lift shafts, the northern set can be interacted with (and fallen down). The second set, located roughly in the junction of the inverted-T shape of the building, cause a weird bug; each time I open a door to a lift shaft, the game saves and dumps me out at the main menu.I don't know why it's doing that, and I keep meaning to grab a screengrab of the console but have been to disorganized to manage it yet, but I'm curious if anyone else has found the same problem.

So after subbing to this on the workshop steam apparently downloaded it but nothing in either of the mods folders. Same with other mods I had to manually download them and put them in for them to show up under mods in game. Is there anywhere I can download this to put in in manually?
