Just started making buildings!

I just started learning how to make (decent, hopefully) buildings in BuildingEd and decided to put my first building up for people to use (clyde) The Drayton map was a source of inspiration towards it, with it's "lived in" feel so I present my quarantined apartment complex. I'll be working on more buildings and (once I learn how, or build 33 comes out. Whichever is first  ) maybe even make a map using them. Tips and ideas are always welcome. Here's an album of all the floors: http://imgur.com/a/zxjAu And a Dropbox link for you all: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bg6wzs5gpldsmoh/QuarantinedApartments.tbx?dl=0

cool build but it could use some more detail. (Not trying to be mean) :P

No, it's ok, tips are welcome. I'm still messing around in BuildingEd so I don't know the full ins and outs quite yet. Thanks though :D

Putting trash around and manually putting grime on the outside of walls looks good.

Will do, I guess it makes sense, especially since it's supposed to be worn in

When I see graffiti on the outside of the 1st and 2nd floor, I always think: how would someone do that in real life?

But that's just me, keep going and don't be afraid to experiment with different appartment/room-layout's.

Maybe not the best example, but I'll share this building here => https://www.dropbox.com/s/4h2alew83146fmw/appartments.tbx?dl=0

Open it with BuildingEd, look at it using the Tile-Mode and play with it.

Disable, enable layers and see what happens, add or remove rooms, furniture, trash ... (don't forget to use the correct layers).

And most important: have fun!

Thanks! I'll look at it and mess around. It's definitely fun coming up with ideas for buildings :-D

Heh, nice to see that I inspired someone to create mods for Project Zomboid. The building is not very well done, but you do have potential.

I'd also like to give you a tip. If you have noticed my map never had any boarded windows. It was originally going to, but putting planks on windows in BuildingEd doesn't exactly work. It's not functional, it's simple eye candy. So, in the future refrain from putting boards on windows.

Made a Bank! Tried to keep it simple, worked a bit more into details and extra fluff. Here's a small album with the interior and exterior:http://imgur.com/a/ZRF9D and a Dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4glhhq84ygib6ek/Bank.tbx?dl=0

**Edit- removed the "Keep Out" Graffiti from the front because it looked odd not having a window there

  • 2 months later...

The Block is starting to fill up in California! How about some biggggggg 4 or 5 story buildings?

The Vegetation in front of the Offices are in the walls...

TCO

I'll fix them and put it back up, and I can work on some taller buildings ye

Edit: Fixed the Vegetation, set it as furniture instead of vegetation so it wasn't clipped into the walls :I
