Drinking Rain/Water Illness

So I was reading the water collection w/o carpentry and I thought of all the times I was out in the rain getting wet and getting the "thirsty" moodle. It would be nice to right click anywhere while it's raining and choose "drink rain".

At the moment there's a chance of getting sick from unprocessed water. Why? Research in academic articles shows that in studies, drinking rainwater does not increase or decrease your chance of consuming micro organisms or pollutants. The water gets most of its harmful contaminates from either the water container that is collecting the water and/or if the water is run off of something such as a roof.

In conclusion: I should be able to look up and drink the water falling from the sky with a significantly lower risk of harmful effects and water barrels that are located next to the edge of buildings should have an increased risk of harmful effects.

Also as a side note, bacterial gastroenteritis was the most common form of illness from drinking contaminated water. I'd say we'd need different moodles for this kind of illness seeing as it would probably not cause a fever. Perhaps just adding pain in the stomach and slowing the character down a bit?

Not trying to lean one way or the other here because I really don't know but is drinking rainwater as it falls practical?

What I mean is... well, I did it as a kid and tended to catch a drop or two, but nowhere near enough to quench any kind of thirst. That said, I didn't try for hours on end so I'm not exactly 'in the know'. I've seen it suggested a lot but I always wonder if it would actually work.

What I would like to see however would be rain pooling on the ground and things - maybe puddles which exist in the game but only become visible once it's been raining for an hour - which you can drink from and fill bottles with. Of course, floor water would be tainted because... floor. :P

As for illnesses, yeah I agree. I get that at the moment there is only really one kind of generic illness and that's just fine as it is, but it would be nifty if there were different kinds based on how you got them.
