Place Aluminum in a Microwave

I've tried it at home, as well as car engine parts, and... soap.

 

Neither metallic object caused a fire, although the soap was spectacular.

So, aluminium in the microwave doesn't start a fire, though it puts on a spectacular lighting display. Without something flammable to ignite, I don't think any metals are going to cause a fire in there. But...

 

Don't expect your microwave to actually heat things after attempting this.

(We got drunk, and had multiple microwaves... you've got to test these urban myths first hand some time...)
