Firecat
Hi all So I thought I'd make a map, just for giggles, see if I can be creative. I've followed the excellent tutorial by Thuztor and it is all making sense. Except for the map itself... I get hundreds of errors on converting my BMP as it has non-approved colours. After much headscratching I now realise it is because where two colours meet it is creating a third mixed colour. Is there a way (I have Paint, Paint.net and GIMP) to stop this happening? Like if I put blue down it is blue, and green is green, no yellow on the borders. I feel the answer is probably obvious, but I'm not good with paint programs #Edit#Why of course I realise my error the second I click post... Pencil is the key! I have used brushes up to now, and obviously paint will blend. Now I have a pencil picked it all seems to be set colours. Yay! At least probably yay! We'll see later when I try the map! CzarUltra
in paint.net you can continue using the brush tool, but as long as anti-aliasing is enabled, it will try and blend/soften the outer edges, resulting in the non-approved color errors. if Anti-Aliasing is disabled then you will only use the selected color. Suomiboi
Will the Warning Pose a problem in the End though?TCOYou might end up getting empty tiles which have colission if I remember correctly. I'm not a 100% on that though... I'd fix them. It's a pain, but it might help in the end.
TheCautiousOne
This post has helped me and I have adjusted the veg png in my map to accomodate this information. No errors at the moment TCO
Ciber Ninja
If you are using paint.net, I recommend the Selective Palette plugin. You can choose a palette of colors and all pixels in your image will be assigned to the closest color. Find it here : http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/8043-curtis-plugin-pack-update-for-354/
